Social Media Content Creator (Student/Work Study)
Job Summary
The College of Innovation & Technology is looking for social media content creators to highlight student life and campus life for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, as well as other emerging social media platforms. Please review CIT social media posts prior to applying for examples, and prepare a portfolio of screenshots of your social media content for the hiring committee to review.
Responsibilities*
Sourcing and creation of organic social media content, including photo, video, and text for posts - minimum of one post per week
Work with social media manager to schedule postings
Video editing of raw footage for social media
Photo editing for social media
Networking with CIT faculty, staff, other students, and student clubs and organizations to collect information for content creation
Social media takeovers
Attending meetings biweekly to discuss social media strategy
Required Qualifications*
Must be a current UM-Flint student in a College of Innovation & Technology program, graduate or undergraduate
Must have an current social media presence and an awareness of social media trends
Must have a willingness to attend CIT functions, events, etc.
Desired Qualifications*
Collaborative and willing to take direction, be open to feedback
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to follow marketing and branding requirements
Video and photo editing skills
Experience with Canva and Capcut preferred
Comfortable in front of a camera
Modes of Work
Hybrid The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
