The Life and Times of Rev. Dr. Joseph Jackson Jr. Leader of The Tougaloo Nine on the 66th Anniversary of his Ministry!

87 years young and a Civil Rights Icon, Rev. Dr. Joseph Jackson Jr., Leader of The Tougaloo Nine-led, trained and mentored by Medgar Wiley Evers, will share his memoir as producer Beverly Black Johnson guides this interview from his early child-hood through his golden sage years.

The historic Tougaloo Nine walked into history due to their brave sit-in at Tougaloo College on March 27, 1961; which sparked a movement eventually leading to desegregating the library system through-out the United States.

About The Tougaloo Nine:

At 11 a.m. on March 27, 1961, nine students from the historically black Tougaloo College walked into the all-white Jackson (Miss.) Public Library. Joseph Jackson Jr., their leader, approached the circulation desk. The rest is HIStory!

From Wikipedia:
The Tougaloo Nine were a group of African-American students at Tougaloo College who participated in civil disobedience by staging sit-ins of segregated public institutions in Mississippi in 1961.
