GSK and ViiV Healthcare, in a groundbreaking partnership with HBCU Connect, hosted an exclusive virtual recruitment event on November 9th, 2023, seeking to recruit highly skilled and passionate Black professionals with a pharmaceutical or scientific background. The event surpassed all expectations, drawing over 180 experienced professionals from various fields, including Supply chain, Commercial operations, Research & Development, Data & Tech, and Finance.
Attendees eagerly embraced the opportunity to explore GSK and ViiV Healthcare, engaging with company leaders and fellow HBCU alumni. The event provided a forum for questions, networking, and the possibility of future interviews. GSK and ViiV Healthcare expressed their excitement at connecting with such a gifted pool of professionals and reaffirmed their dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.
A notable moment came when attendee Joan Fuller expressed her appreciation to Will Moss, CEO of HBCU Connect, and the GSK professionals, emphasizing the value of the information shared.
Our virtual recruitment event was a resounding success! With a guest list of over 500 interested candidates, we far surpassed our initial goal of 25. An impressive 410 people confirmed their attendance and a maximum concurrent attendance of 181 demonstrated the event's widespread appeal. The event featured a stellar kickoff presentation from Gina Chaney and an insightful panel discussion featuring Chassie James, Issac Artis, George Clayton, and Renee Wooten who discussed all the opportunities available at GSK and Viiv.
