A Philosopher's Reply To: This Is What Actual Systemic Racism Looks Like (799 hits)

I came across an article yesterday of which I will reply to. Here it is for reference: https://pjmedia.com/christopherskeet/2023/...

Dear Mr. Skeet,

Your recent article, "This Is What Actual Systemic Racism Looks Like," was quite subjective. I'm often amazed at the lengths at which Christian white men disregard certain bible principles and verses. In your case, we will refer to one reaping what they sow: "The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. But he does not excuse the guilty. He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations. Numbers 14:18

Now sir, I'm glad you're a student of history, that makes this much easier. As a former marine, I would be baffled if you were unaware of how root cause analysis works but in case your memory fails you when you write.. The essence of problem solving lies in understanding how the problem originated. I too, am a student of history but our teachers have different agendas. However, that has no bearing on the facts thank goodness. Dr. Ishakamusa Barashango had a very interesting question he proposed specifically to white scholars that I would like to ask you and which may shed more light on what systemic racism actually is.

Can you name one place that Europeans colonized that didn't bring death, destruction and disease to the indigenous people that were already living in those places?

No? That's because Christians, Jews and Muslims alike converted the world by the sword Mr. Skeet. Those are the facts you conveniently glossed over. Let us add that your Christian ancestors were some of the worst human beings known to humanity who killed, lied, stole, enslaved, raped..anything for money and power.

Now, it's quite concerning that you don't really care for solutions otherwise, I would not have had to remind a Marine with a master's in history how root cause analysis works or how we don't live in a vacuum, separated from the past but.. your perspective provides a valuable teaching point for the world Mr. Skeet.

There are so many like you, who are disillusioned about what systemic racism actually is but I want to help make it plain for you and those like you:

SYSTEMIC RACISM IS WHAT REMAINS FROM WHAT YOUR SLAVE HOLDING WHITE SUPREMACISTS/ COLONIALISTS ANCESTORS CREATED.

You see, they called it Colonialism but we can now say they lived under the ORIGINAL racism. The one that only benefitted white people. Racism used to be a one way street…Isn’t it interesting that you too get to play the racism card now? Maybe your real problem is with the Hebrew/Christian/islam God then for allowing racism to be an open highway these days..But please try to keep in mind Mr. Skeet: “ He does not excuse the guilty!”

I'm no longer a practicing Christian but I remember quite a lot about how it's supposed to work sir. If you, were to repent, them maybe Yahweh, Jehovah and/or Jesus might have mercy upon your sins and you would’t have to live in fear, having solace that “The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion.” Referring back to our root cause analysis, true repentance would mean for all colonialists to go back to Europe........for only that would fully rectify and reverse the wrong.

Instead, however.... you perfectly illustrated your heightened sense of narcissism in playing the vict*m to a problem you created in the first place. It's the height of childishness sir because it ignores root cause analysis and stirs anxiety amongst the not so well informed. We as historians or intellects should hold ourselves to a higher standard but I understand how pride and power can blind a man to the facts. My letter today is to remind you that we all must reap what we sow Mr. Skeet. That's universal law.

Finally, let's get to the advice you gave to jewish people. Quite astonishing for one who claims to follow one Jesus the Christ, a man who told his followers to turn the other cheek.

Until I recently read a book entitled, "The Historical Origins of Islam" By Dr. Walter Williams, I did not fully understand the relationship between the USA and Israel but this brilliant scholar connected the gaps in my understand. As a historian, I suggest you take a look at it. You should enjoy an alternative perspectives to help shape your understanding of the past. That's the point of history studying history isn't it? I made sure to watch some documentaries from white historians concerning the origins of the war to be sure I did not suffer from any confirmation bias, are you able to do the same sir?

But I digress... after reading the book and watching the documentaries, it's crystal clear why we must be friends with Israel. The US and Israel share the same colonialism complex: Europeans on someone else's land they took by illegitimate means who refuse to leave and now play the vict*ms to horrors from the black and brown people they been screwing over.

Your 2nd piece of advice is nothing short of classical white supremacist rhetoric: Instead of addressing the root cause… get your guns and be prepared to shoot first, ask questions later. Sir, I don’t know what translation you subscribe to but the Bible says that “He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations.” I encourage you to use your voice to suggest peaceful alternatives to satisfy your God’s condition for safety for future generations. The battle is not yours, it’s the Lord’s. You might have missed that lesson… That’s the Christian rhetoric taught on the plantations and black churches today.

In summary Mr. Skeet, painting systemic racism as only affecting Jews erases the voices and struggles of millions of people of color who have suffered for centuries under colonialism. It’s disrespectful but everyone is entitled to their opinion and I want to thank you for this teachable moment for people who are playing Planetary Chess. We’ve always understood that the way you practice Christianity is quite different from the way you teach it but it’s always nice to have fresh reminders.

Kind Regards,
Janga Bussaja
