Just Skip Right Over This If You Make This Face When We Talk About Ending Systemic Racism (520 hits)

I love the game of basketball. My closet friends today were teammates in the past, brothers in arms. I met a guy the other day, from Chicago.. I call him Chi-Town AC. A good brother. Our paths crossed coaching at an AAU tournament. The basketball AAU circuit is a hot mess, full of overinflated egotistical maniac coaches who couldn’t even dream of scoring 20 points in a game of 21, however, when Chi Town AC and I was talking, he said something that made me instantly respect his basketball IQ. First of all, we both played in the SWAC but this brother said that he walked on a D-1 team…. Instant respect! There’s politics in everything right but walking on to a college team is extremely difficult. A walk-on is not supposed to be on the team. Coaches scout year round and each team has a certain amount of players it can offer a scholarship to. They rarely, if ever, leave a spot for a walk-on. You can’t imagine the hours and manpower that goes into the recruiting program of every university, especially the major ones. One of my best friends is a rockstar coach at the highest college level, talent acquisition being his specialty and his schedule is non-stop, year round. So, for a guy to come on the team, “off the streets”, and off the radar could be seen as a slap in the face to the recruiting program, what some deem as the life force of the program. Chi Town AC had a very good story. He simply went to open gym one day to hoop. Games was going to 12 (1’s and 2’s) and he dropped 10 buckets on the guy defending him. After the game, he discovered that the guy he gave the 10 buckets to was the best player on the team…. And the coaches happened to be there watching.

The will of the coaching staff to win overruled the politics of recruiting and so, he walked on the team.

I’m in a position similar to Chi Town AC. I’ve been studying this racism white supremacy thing for about 10 years now, 100% self taught. Earlier this year, I began looking up the racism or antiracism centers that began popping up at universities all over the world, most notably after the execution of Mr. George Floyd. And so, like Chi Town AC, I ventured to a few universities to display my skill… I didn’t realize at the time that they would be looking at me like some guy “off the streets” proposing a plan to end systemic racism but I quickly found out. I received little to no feedback despite visiting a few campuses, along with calls and emails. Perhaps I was being naive but I (foolishly) assumed that if you have a mission statement that says you are interested in dismantling systemic racism….. and someone, anyone, presents a proposal and methodology to do so..at the very least, you must read or acknowledge the proposal, right??? Wrong. (Note: If you think I’m f.o.s about the methodology, just click on the YouTube video)

The will of the universities to end systemic racism was not bigger than the politics within the university and so, this is one of the few replies I received:

Dear Janga,
Unfortunately, as you noticed, the seed funds I believe you were referring to are internal to MIT. I’m not aware of other opportunities at this time. I wish you success in your search for other funding opportunities.
Sincerely,

Ok. I get it. Maybe I didn’t put up enough buckets like Chi Town AC did. A demonstration that I belong in the dismantling systemic racism arena. If I told you that in the past 12 years, I’ve taken more penitentiary chances than you’ll probably take in 5 lifetimes and yet never spent a night in jail or owned a gun while living under the constant threat of the death and destruction that comes with being in the Black Underworld.. would you believe me then? Would I be credible? Because up until this point, I was just relying on the scholarship, which I thought was the equivalent of a 30 pt triple double. The scholarship in my opinion, up until now was more than enough but no one recognized Planetary Chess until I gave up a lil dirt on my past. Here’s the interview: https://medium.com/authority-magazine/upst...

I’m turning 40 this week and I’ve decided to fully transition into my passion as a philosopher or lover of wisdom and social entrepreneur. I wasn’t previously at liberty to discuss my practical experience in understanding systemic racism. That and my time in corporate America makes me uniquely qualified because I’ve played on both sides of the fence: A house negro and an outlaw/runaway. I began blogging on this site because I would like to develop Planetary Chess at an HBCU. There’s a cool position called an activist in residence program but as mentioned before.. I couldn’t seem to get in touch with any of the programs…so I figure I’ll just talk a lot of **** here until someone notices. I don’t really think of myself as an activist but more of a student/researcher or a scientist working towards the end of a problem.. and if I had some teammates, we would f**k systemic racism up a whole lot quicker.

The white supremacist who murdered 4 black people in Florida recently went to a HBCU first and was denied entry. This is not a new thing as HBCU’s have been dealing with a lot of threats from white supremacists in the past few years. We’re a target. Let’s call a spade a spade. Systemic racism has become so commonplace that obvious racist acts seem to virtually go unnoticed with no resolve. Just another day in America where some excuse is used to cover up conspicuous racism. Furthermore, I’ve had to watch the execution of Ta'Kiya Young more than usual because it’s featured in my upcoming film. A white police officer shot and killed a pregnant black woman accused of shoplifting from a grocery store. Her and baby died on the scene.

Here’s the scholarship:

In the past decade or so, we’ve come to learn of an online community of white supremacists who subscribe to a theory known as the Great Replacement Theory where they honor and venerate heinous acts of terrorism. Similar shootings like that in Jacksonville recently also occurred in Buffalo, El Paso and many other places all over the world have all been attributed to the belief in the Great Replacement Theory. Additionally, in the case of Ta’Kiya Young, Statista.com reports that, “the rate of fatal police shootings among Black Americans was much higher than that for any other ethnicity, standing at 5.9 fatal shootings per million of the population per year between 2015 and January 2023.

Connecting the dots from these two recent incidents lead back to what counter racist scientists have very accurately described within the definition of systemic racism. Psychiatrist’s like Dr. Francis Cress Welsing analyzed both as conscious and/or subconscious behaviors that stemmed from a fear of white genetic annihilation and the concern for white genetic survival. Police subconsciously kill black folks at rates higher than everyone else. White supremacists are feeling that the white race is being eliminated and consciously kill black folks in random acts of terrorism.

We’re one racist incident from another major call to action similar to what happened after the death of George Floyd. A racist scumbag will be exposed for the world to see and everyone will want to “do something” about racism. Last time, a whole lot of money was donated to ending systemic racism and the leading effort was Antiracism. Now that we see that isn’t working.. It’s time to embrace counter racism. White America has absolved themselves from the past. It’s time to face the music and accept that it’s no use begging or pleading them to go against their vested interests.

If you was able to read all of that, we’re already one step closer to dismantlement. I believe you will really enjoy my new film, “We F**ked Up Systemic Racism”, coming out on YouTube soon.
