Deion Sanders Stays Hot On the Recruiting Trail, Adds Two Major Commitments (1806 hits)
Colorado Head Football Coach Deion Sanders has taken the college football world by storm. Every move the former NFL player known as Prime makes is big news.
Deion Sanders even wants his players to refer to him as “Coach Prime”, emphasizing his larger-than-life personality. And, that certainly helps him on the recruiting trail.
His recruiting success goes back to his time at FCS HBCU Jackson State. There, he landed Travis Hunter, the top overall player in the country in the class of 2022, over every major program in the country. Hunter has now transferred to Colorado to continue to be coached by Deion.
Colorado has been a tough place to recruit to recently, but Deion Sanders is doing his best. He landed five-star cornerback Cormani McClain last year and led Colorado to the 35th-best recruiting class in the country, according to On3. And, he’s now landed two more big commitments for the 2024 class in a pair of four-stars. Here is The Athletic with more details.
Colorado has been featured in some too-early top 25 rankings for the upcoming season, but that is pure clickbait. Still, if Deion Sanders can somehow get the Buffaloes bowl eligible, that will be an excellent season in Boulder. In the meantime, he’s doing his best to significantly increase the talent level of a team that was likely the least talented power 5 team in the country last year.
