The Carter G. Woodson Lecture: Resilient Joy (565 hits)

Check out this video from Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland!
Dr. Errol Bolden presented "Resilient Joy," which speaks to not only the reality of a people who encountered much and persevered but were able to thrive in an inequitable world collectively. This presentation highlighted some key characteristics of a resilient spirit. The Kwanzaa principle of Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility) is also embraced as central to joyous resilience enjoyed by people who refuse to be rendered invisible or dismissed as insignificant. They, like a brand-new penny, continued to shine.
