Today's Guest Speaker: RAHIEM Rahiem formerly of Grand Master Flash and The Furious Five. Rahiem, aka “Ra” was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He has been a prominent force in the Hip-Hop industry since its inception. Rahiem started as a member of the pioneering Hip-Hop group The Funky Four & then joining Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five; one of VH1's 2005 Hip Hop Honorees. Rahiem has also worked as a staff producer with Teddy Riley’s New Jack Swing productions and then as a staff producer working with Dr Dre. Rahiem has worked on films musically such as "Juice" in which he received a gold record for and his song entitled “Does Your Man Know About Me” & Rahiem co-wrote the rap lyrics along with Nas for The Netflix Original series “The Get Down". Rahiem & his group Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, 2007 & recently awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy in 2021. Rahiem switched lanes and began subtly making a career change by taking a small acting role in an independent film entitled “Demented Love” directed by Michelle Ve on Amazon Prime and then another small role in another Amazon Prime release entitled “Music & Murder” directed by Greg Galloway in which he plays the role of an O.G. named “Uncle Leo” ###
