Brian Favors is the Co-Founder and Program Director of the Nate Parker Foundation, which merges film, storytelling and culturally responsive educational programming for youth and young adults to combat the crisis facing African and African American communities.

This video, from the Community Kickoff of the 2022 Summer Film Institute, describes the flagship program of the Nate Parker Foundation. In partnership with and hosted at Norfolk State University, the ten-day program brought together scholars and industry professionals to teach Black, aspiring artists about the art of film-making. The program is open to high school and college students, as well as recent graduates, and offers full scholarships for participants who have financial limitations.
