Let Us Honor Two-Time HBCU Grad John Lewis and His Legacy of Excellence (7387 hits)


Many people do not know that the late great Congressman John Lewis was a Two-Time HBCU Graduate. Earning degrees from American Baptist College as well as Fisk University. The civil rights champion will be missed.

John Robert Lewis was the change we all needed to see and our nation won’t look the same without him.

The politician and civil rights leader was born on February 21, 1940 in Troy, Alabama.

Lewis was the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 5th congressional district, serving in his 17th term in the House where he served since 1987.

Lewis was also dean of the Georgia congressional delegation. John Lewis graduated from American Baptist College in 1961 and from Fisk University in 1967.
