Miss Morris Brown College - Jamila McQueen (14010 hits)
Jamila McQueen was born in Montgomery, Alabama to the parents of Calvin and Nuelani McQueen. At an early age, Jamila became passionate about helping others, as well as advancing herself through scholastic achievement. Jamila is currently a Presidential Scholar at Morris Brown College, majoring in Psychology
Jamila attended LaVergne High School in Nashville, Tennessee. While there she was a member of various groups and organizations. Most importantly she served as member of the ROTC. Three years of ROTC resulted in receiving the rank of Captain and many other awards were received as well. Those awards ranged from having straight A's, top 50% percent in fitness, Leadership award, and the Cadet of the Year award- among many others. During her senior year, Jamila entered dual collegiate enrollment courses. She graduate with a 4.0 GPA and was in the Top 10% of her graduating class.
Through her continued efforts and leadership, Jamila has persevered with grace, class, and sheer elegance throughout her community, church, and now here at MBC.
Jamila has a great passion for the fine arts to include music and poetry.
Jamila McQueen is excited about the new opportunities that are ahead. She expressed that “Morris Brown College has provided the stepping stone to her overall pursuit of happiness and advancement to promote wellness for all.” After graduation, Jamila plans to continue her educational pursuits at Morehouse School of Medicine, to become a surgeon.
